Liberte, named after the first landmark seen when taking the Liverpool-New York cruise line, is a stylish restaurant and rooftop bar in the centre of Liverpool right by the waterfront, boasting brilliant views of the city and a great spot to come for food and cocktails. The rooftop bar is sizeable with comfortable furnishings and large tables surrounded by impressive buildings and a view of the waterfront. The restaurant itself hosts booths surrounded by vibrant colours and wall art with a black and white striped floor, a bold space. This is a perfect spot to come for an evening out with friends for some food and some drinks, and although the main attraction feels like it should be the rooftop bar, the restaurant offers some tasty food that should be tried.
The menu has an overt Asian influence; to start you can choose things like Korean chicken wings and chicken satay skewers as well as tempting options like confit duck croquettes. Main courses are no less tempting, with glazed pork belly and poke bowls being just a few alongside the Liberte house curries which can be paired with chicken, prawn or tofu. Desserts like marshmallow gateaux are an exciting finish to the meal. The drinks menu has a good selection of spirits, beer, soft drinks and affordable wines as well as a cocktail list full of show-stopping and inventive cocktails, think cotton candy and smoke.
Liberte offers bottomless brunch in the rooftop space, and will see you choosing from a small list of dishes like the katsu chicken burger and enjoying it with bottomless beer, wine or prosecco. Liberte is a great example of how a space can incorporate different vibes to create something really fun with a restaurant space serving up good food and a bar dishing some interesting, well-priced, drinks all while overlooking the river.
