In downtown Liverpool, directly across from the iconic Three Graces, West Africa House is a testament to the city's rich heritage, as this building once housed the esteemed Bank of West Africa. One of LEAF group's unique venues, OH ME OH MY came to life in 2013 the team found the hidden gem building and instantly fell under its spell. What was created was a tea house during the week and a gorgeous events venue during evenings and weekends. Perhaps making it an even more special venue, OH ME OH MY has what they argue is the city's finest view from its roof garden on the 8th floor, aptly named goodness gracious. OH ME OH MY is a wonderful place to gather with loved ones, whether popping by to just enjoy the views with a drink or celebrating through the whole evening.
OH ME OH MY is open every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 12 until 3pm. The afternoon tea comes with a selection of petit fours, scones with all the fillings, finger sandwiches and a pot of tea. Sometimes, the restaurant opens special spots on the weekend, so it’s worth keeping an eye on their social media and website.
The standard afternoon tea menu comes with a selection of savouries including egg mayonnaise and watercress on farmhouse malted bread, coronation chicken and coriander on farmhouse white bread, a handmade sausage roll with buttery puff pastry, and another sandwich of smoked salmon and cucumber with dill cream cheese on open rustic ciabatta. Sweet treats include the rhubarb bakewell, carrot and walnut cake with a vanilla and orange frosting, and a rich dark chocolate torte with a biscuit base. Other sweet treats include the white chocolate choux bun stuffed with lemon and lime curd, a spiced apple creme brulee, and of course, a baked scone with clotted cream and jam.
