Found in Ealing, Leila is a Moroccan and Lebanese restaurant which transports its guests to the Middle East, thanks to a subtly themed space and an extensive menu of authentic Moroccan and Lebanese dishes.
The dining room at Leila is appropriately matched to the theme, complete with chocolate tones, intricate light fixtures, colourful throws and scatter cushions, plus various Lebanese knick-knacks that set the mood for an evening of Middle Eastern dining. You might even catch the occasional belly dancer shimmying their way around the space.
Leila’s menu is an extensive a la carte offering, divided up between soups, hot and cold mezze, salads and dishes from the grill, as well as a selection of vegetarian options. It is also a great shout for budget-minded diners, who can take advantage of two set dinner menus or the unbelievably good value lunch deal which lets you enjoy a salad or a wrap with chips for just £6.99.
To kick off your meal, tuck into a selection of hot and cold mezze - think the likes of tabbouleh, falafel, calamari and halloumi fries. Next up, choose between dishes from the grill such as chicken skewers marinated in garlic, lemon juice and olive oil served with chips, or go vegetarian with the likes of moussaka served with rice. Wash it all down with classic or house cocktails, or stay sensible and opt for Morocaan mint tea.
On the weekends, visit Leila to enjoy a bottomless Prosecco brunch for two, where guests are presented with a platter of mezze dishes to share. For something a little more civilised, try Leila’s Morocaan take on a classic afternoon tea, which swaps out cucumber sandwiches for the likes of a falafel wrap and a shawarma mini roll, followed by scones and an array of Middle Eastern sweet treats.
