About

While the main offering of Le Pont De La Tour lies in the restaurant, the bar is perfectly suited for a more relaxed visit. Diners are invited to stop by for one of its expertly-crafted cocktails, or a glass of wine from the extensive list, while enjoying views of the river from its waterside location. Indeed, the setting needs little introduction, offering stunning views of Tower Bridge and the Thames. Housed on the ground floor of a Victorian warehouse building, Le Pont De La Tour is steeped in history, yet has kept itself relevant and up to date.

For those in the mood for a casual drinks spot, Le Pont Bar is just the ticket. Pull up a bar stool and peruse its menu of signature cocktails. This includes an extensive range of seasonal drinks, Sours, Martinis, Negronis, Spritz', Classics and non-alcoholic options. For a flavour of what to expect, its signature cocktails include the likes of The Gentleman, featuring Jamesons, D.O.M Benedictine, Grand Marnier and lemon juice, or Tarte au Citron with vodka infused with jasmine green tea, limoncello, italicus, lemon juice, egg white and sugar syrup. Whatever you choose, you can guarantee a tipple to perk up your tastebuds.

Aside from cocktails, there is an impressive range of whiskies, vodkas, rums, gins, tequila, beers, teas and soft drinks. And if you're a wine drinker, discover an assortment of excellent wines by the glass, including Champagne and sparkling too.

No menu at Le Pont De La Tour would be complete without oysters, which are available with the traditional mignonette as a bar snack. Other edible options include goujonettes of plaice with a dill emulsion, aged Compte gougeres, truffle fries with parmesan and chives or a selection of French cheeses.

Unforgettable dining experiences by the Thames have been Le Pont De La Tour's speciality since it opened. You can use the menu to the right to make a reservation now.

A mixed up experience
The food was good and good value. The service was mixed. We ordered two glasses of wine, one came. We were given the meal the next door table had ordered which meant two of us were waiting and some dishes were sent back. Then all was taken away to start again. The site is great by the river. The staff were pleasant if with varying degrees of competence. Could be improved if there were jugs of water left on each table but the answer to that suggestion was a definite “Non”!

Raw lamb and soggy salty profiteroles
Our party of four ate here last night (a Friday night) and we were all looking forward to it. We dine out often and have expectations of service and food quality that are reasonable and balanced. This was a premium venue and so we expected a high standard of food and also service. We realised that it was a bar and grill, so we weren't expecting restaurant level service either. Unfortunately, the service was more provincial bistro than London restaurant. The most popular wine on the menu was out of stock and the wine waiter recommended completely unsuitable replacements that were markedly different in grape variety and region, showing a very shaky understanding and then made no enquiry about what were planning to eat with the wine. I chose a Jumilla which was very pleasant. The food was very ordinary, and in the case of the lamb steak, inedible. It was almost raw and had a strange chewy consistency, so we sent this back. No member of staff discussed this with us, simply offering us a replacement dish. It's almost as though they were practiced in offering replacements! We declined a replacement and went on to order profiteroles which were pre prepared, so the pastry was chilled and soggy along with the filling… unfortunately one of the profiteroles ordered was overly salty, so much so that it too was inedible and was sent back. To say that our evening was ruined would be overstating it, the ambience is busy and fun and the piano music was pleasant. However based on the food alone, it was very poor. Cannot recommend it, except for the view of Tower Bridge which was very nice
