Located in the heart of Woking, Latino is perfectly positioned for a fine meal out. Nearby is the Ambassadors Victoria Theatre, along with many other popular attractions, so why not pop in for a pre-theatre bite to eat. The menus here are authentic, whilst offering a bit of a modern twist. Recipes have been handed down to the Latino chefs through generations, and are freshly prepared using great technique and high quality ingredients.
You should always begin any good meal with a selection of antipasto for the table. Try the chicken livers with mushrooms, cooked in a marsala wine sauce and with crostini bread, or the popular calamari fritti with a lemon and garlic mayonnaise. Other starters include the caprese salad with mozzarella and a fresh basil oil dressing, and pan fried arancini balls. You'll be spoilt for choice with your main dish, as there are many components to the menu. The pizzas are first up, and include classics like margherita, four cheese and pepperoni, along with parma ham and parmesan toppings and veggie specials.
There are quite a few fish dishes on the menu at Latino, with fillets of sea bass served alongside tiger prawns in a white wine and tomato sauce, along with baked salmon, swordfish, and the caciucco di pesce – a traditional dish with mussels, calamari, cod, king prawns and salmon cooked in a cherry tomato, white wine, garlic and chilli sauce. Meat eaters can enjoy the chicken breast with roasted peppers, chilli and cherry tomato, or the chargrilled ribeye steak with a rocket salad.
As for the pastas, we love the sound of the simple penne arrabiata, spaghetti carbonara and baked gnocchi with mozzarella.
