Juke & Loe is a friendly neighbourhood restaurant serving seasonal modern-British food on Ecclesall road in Sheffield. Set up by brothers Joseph and Luke Grayson with the aim of serving seriously good food in a relaxed, unfussy and welcoming atmosphere, all dishes are made using the freshest local ingredients with an ever-changing menu to reflect the best of the season's produce.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, with a set lunch menu available on Fridays and Saturdays and an a la carte menu served for dinner from Wednesday to Saturday. The ingredients are British but the menu is influenced by global flavours and techniques. Examples of starters include crispy pig’s head with braised octopus, aubergine, Thai curry, cucumber and peanuts, while mains feature Cornish cod with shiitake butter, mushroom puree, artichokes, miso and leeks. The menu is simple and concise with only a handful of options available for each course. For dessert, you might find a rhubarb and custard mille-feuille with crème fraiche sorbet up for grabs, or perhaps a lemon curd parfait with Italian meringue, white chocolate crumb and pistachio.
The drinks list includes a selection of wines, cocktails and beers. The wine list is, again, short and sweet with a selection of bottles from across the globe. A handful of reds and whites, plus one rose option, keeps things simple. While signature cocktails include classic and bespoke options, from negronis and martinis to one called The Robin made with Absolut vodka, blood orange, Cointreau and lime.
The main dining area can be found on the ground floor and features wooden flooring and furniture and minimal decor for a low-key, rustic feel. Upstairs, there is a private dining room with a capacity of up to 22 people, which can be hired for private functions, business meetings and surprise parties.
