This all-day venture arrived in 2013 courtesy of the eponymous Jones family, but after three years at their Arcola Street site, they’ve moved to a bigger space just down the road on 3 Gillett Street (which used to be Pond Dalston). Inside, it’s a clever hotchpotch involving everything from commercial maritime salvage and Scandinavian furniture to a classic Italian deli counter. Alongside the restaurant, there is a separate oak-clad bar, which serves snacks and seasonal cocktails and a 10m-long banquette for entertaining large groups. Outside, a private courtyard provides alfresco seating. Head chef Kieran Hope serves up the likes of fried duck egg and truffle on toast for brunch, alongside Monmouth Coffee. Meanwhile, dinner changes seasonally and focuses on local produce. Expect whisky-cured salmon with soda bread and sorrel mayo, and pressed pork belly with spiced apple chutney and bone-marrow jus. A stellar cocktail and wine list should keep everyone happy.
