Nestled in a lesser-known part of Surbiton, this charming riverside restaurant and bar provides an idyllic escape for delectable dining, leisurely afternoon drinks, and captivating late-night get together. This restaurant marks the newest culinary endeavour by the dynamic husband and wife duo, Sam and Alex Berry. Their impressive portfolio already includes the acclaimed No 97 in Surbiton, One One Four in Teddington, and Cento Uno, also in Surbiton.
The brunch menu kicks off with French toast covered in berries and maple syrup, with the option to add bacon, before moving onto a classic dish of smashed avocado on seeded sourdough, tomato, burrata and poached eggs, a shakshuka with chorizo or halloumi and a delicious smoked salmon royal, served up with eggs, hollandaise, chives and bread. For lunch, try the Caesar salad made with cos lettuce, pancetta, a boiled egg, some croutons and a delicious anchovy dressing - with the option to add crispy chicken. There's also a beef burger on the menu with skin on fries, yum. For dessert, customers can enjoy a pastel de nata, slice of banana loaf or piece of the cake of the day, or perhaps some yummy soft serve served with sauce, a flake and sprinkles.
In the evening, things are kicked off with a delectable selection of tapas. Vegan options include the harissa roasted cauliflower, burrito bowl and arancini balls. Veggie options range from delicious burrata in chermoula sauce to courgette fritters with feta cheese. Also on the menu are fish and meat dishes, from gambas pil-pil and tuna sashimi to Greek chicken, lamb chops with a quinoa and sweetcorn salad and fritto misto. For ‘afters’, try the Frangelico or Baileys to finish off, and end with a lemon and lime mousse, pannacotta or churros with chocolate sauce.
