This popular restaurant and cocktail bar in High Barnet is the brainchild of restaurateur Elton Keka, who has previously acted as general manager for big-name brands including Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, Fortnum & Mason and Searcys.
Boasting a plum location on the high street, Hadley House is an attractive space home to contemporary interiors. The cocktail bar features high leather bar stools and exposed brick, while the adjacent dining room sees a smattering of tables sitting beneath jazzy light fixtures. It’s here where the action happens, with Hadley House catering for everything from family meals out (there’s a kids menu and outdoor play area) to late-night drinks with friends (a DJ performs every Saturday night until 1am). Hadley House also benefits from an outdoor area, complete with wooden decking, which offers a charming space for al fresco dining.
The food at Hadley House is a celebration of seasonality and European cuisine. The menus evolve with the seasons, but on your visit you may come across starters such as salt and pepper squid with garlic aioli, or perhaps cheese croquettes with harissa mayonnaise. For your main course, you can choose to tuck into one of the 28-day aged steaks from the grill, or you can opt for one of the dishes from the regular menu, which range from burgers and pizzas to curries and pasta.
Hadley House is also a weekend destination, offering up a three-course brunch menu with the option of unlimited Bellinis, Bloody Marys or bubbly. On the brunch menu, you’ll find dishes such as seasonal soup of the day or a classic chicken Caesar salad, before rounding off your meal with the likes of a warm chocolate brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. On Sundays, head here for a traditional roast that arrives at the table with all of the trimmings, including roast potatoes, vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and homemade gravy.
On-site parking and promotional offers throughout the year are further draws, while the convivial atmosphere solidifies Hadley House as a real dining out all-rounder.
