The Lygon Arms restaurant has partnered with James Martin to create an indulgent, seasonal menu to enjoy within this luxurious Cotswold village hotel.
Sitting in the heart of picturesque Broadway, The Lygon Arms itself dates back to the 14th century and has been thoughtfully restored throughout.
Diners may enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail, sat alongside the open fire, before heading into the main restaurant. The main restaurant is light and airy, boasting vaulted ceilings and plenty of space for both large and small gatherings.
Menu's have been designed by renowned Chef James Martin, and include a selection of artisanal, seasonal dishes, many of which are made using locally sourced ingredients.
Dishes aim to be traditional and authentic, with a contemporary, quality finish.
Dishes on the main menu are subject to seasonal change, however you may find starters such as classic prawn cocktail served with toasted brown bread and Netherend Farm butter, and trio of oak smoked salmon served with crispy capers and Hampshire watercress.
Main dishes on the menu may include braised lamb shank served with buttery mashed potato, steak frites, and buttered chicken curry. You will also find a good selection of dry-aged steaks on the menu, which can be served with your choice of sauce and side dishes. Perhaps you’ll go for the classic green peppercorn, or the Cafe de Paris butter.
Desserts sound equally as tempting, with playful favourites on offer, such as the knickerbocker glory served with raspberry ripple ice cream, and bread and butter pudding made with white chocolate and whiskey. You will also find a selection of local cheeses on the menu, served with crackers, chutneys and jelly.
If you’re looking for a place to stop and enjoy an informal pub lunch, you may also want to make a visit to the Lygon Arms Tavern. Open daily, the Tavern has its own menu of hearty pub classics such as the Lygon ploughman's board served with pork pie, mature cheddar, apple and pickles, or the ultimate Cheddar and ham toastie served with cheese sauce, chutney and smoked ham.
