Grantham is a market town in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, and is just over 20 miles east of Nottingham. The town is known for its play in the mechanical engineering field, primarily for the production of diesel engines and road rollers. Sir Isaac Newton once attended the King's School in Grantham, and it's where former Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, was born. You can access Grantham easily from the A1, and once you're there, you'll find many beautiful, historic houses to peruse. As a market town, it's no surprise that there is still a general market to explore, along with a traditional farmers market. For a bit more of a journey into the town's history, visit the parish church of St Wulfram's, which has the tallest medieval church spire in the country.
