Street Burger in Edinburgh is the first of the British chef’s chain restaurant group to open in Scotland, and the ninth addition to a long line of Street Burgers across the UK including one in Woking, another in Reading and six sites across London. The restaurant is a casual dining destination with a streamlined focus on gourmet burgers, drinks and shakes, while typically offering a relaxed urban diner feel inside.
Unlike any of Ramsay’s other ventures, however, the Edinburgh site offers more than just a dining area with a DJ booth and games lounge, making it a great spot for parties and groups to get together. Located across two floors (levels four and five) of the St James Quarter development, the restaurant builds on an existing portfolio of places to eat and drink in the city’s shopping district.
The interiors have been designed by Russell Sage Studios, the team that's also responsible for designing Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen, Union Street Café and his Michelin-starred Petrus.
The food offering is the same as its other Street Burger sites, with reasonably priced burgers, unlimited soft drinks and fries with every order. Signature dishes include the Hell’s Kitchen Burger which sees a grass-fed Hereford beef patty stacked with jalapeno and padron salsa, smoked sriracha sauce and smoked cheese. While the #BAE Burger sees a beef patty topped with treacle cured bacon, an over easy egg, cheese and tomato relish. There are also vegetarian and vegan options available.
To drink, there are a range of cocktails, beers, wine and shakes. While all burgers come with unlimited soft drinks (Fanta, Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite), it’s also known for its epic shakes with flavours such as Oreo and Sticky Toffee Pudding.
Street Burger is not the only restaurant from Gordon Ramsay to appear in Edinburgh, with Bread Street Kitchen & Bar also open in St Andrew Square.
