Godalming is a market town in south west Surrey, lying just around 30 miles outside of central London. There's plenty to do in Godalming, but it's perhaps best known for its history. In the 16th century, this town was famous for its booming wool industry and then, funnily enough, when the wool industry took a bit of a nosedive, the town reinvented itself and became known across the country for its production of stockings. Today you can visit many wonderful attractions in Godalming, such as National Trust properties, the town's sports facilities, and make use of many attractions that will keep the kids entertained. There are plenty of historical and cultural places of interest, and local festivals take place here each year.
