This lovely, cosy restaurant on Wimbledon Park road is well-located and is within short walking distance to Southfields underground station. A superb choice for authentic Naples-style sourdough, this pizzeria is super easy to get to and is close to the tennis club and the pretty Wimbledon common for a stretch of green. The outside seating is charming and a must for a sunny day, the joy of warmth and a freshly made, hot pizza is great.
The interior has that familiar, homely vibe that Franco Manca delivers so well and makes you feel immediately relaxed. With the quality of pizza you could be sitting in a pizzeria in Italy. The Southfields location is intimate and friendly with a red heart art-feature on the wall. The décor is simple and the wooden furniture and floorboards give it a rustic feel. The glass front brings in lots of light, integrating the outside sitting with the inner part of the restaurant.
There is a large blackboard hanging on the wall displaying the daily specials which feature meat and vegetarian pizzas curated from the day’s best seasonal imports and locally sourced produce like goat’s curd, wild broccoli, and watercress pesto made in-house. The regular pizza menu is based on six choices which range from classic ingredients pairings like buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil, and san Marzano tomatoes to Colston Basset stilton, caramelised onions, and lightly spiced pancetta. The no.7 is a special created by master pizza connoisseurs and Michelin star chefs.
The red and white wines are organic and vegan, sourced from Italian vineyard regions and the no-logo beers are all locally-London sourced. The desserts feature classics like creamy tiramisu and yummy lemon-honey cakes. Bookings are available for larger parties, making this an ideal location for a birthday party or a casual group outing.
