Just across from the river Avon, sits the enticing Franco Manca pizzeria with their fresh hot pizzas made in the traditional Neapolitan way. For a relaxing meal, after visiting the historical Roman baths, it’s only fitting to have an Italian-style pizza to renew your energy. The area is buzzing and bustling with stunning views over the water. There’s plenty more to do in the area from catching a movie at the cinema or hanging out in the park. You can check out the Victoria Art Gallery and the Bath Postal Museum too. The restaurant is super easy to get to, as it is just outside Bath Spa station.
There is a large area outside for alfresco dining in the warmer climes, otherwise head inside for a warm welcome from the friendly staff and the hot ovens baking away. You’ll immediately be greeted by the delicious aroma of the sourdough pizzas. The dough is made fresh every day to be proved for a minimum of 20 hours, for a slow rise, creating that signature tangy flavour, that Franco Manca has become so well known for. You’ll hardly be able to resist, especially when you catch a glance of the daily specials up on the blackboard.
The interior is cool, with curved walls giving it a container vibe, and wooden accents featuring in the furniture and colourful tiled flooring. The beautiful Naples-imported ovens are a key element of the room, surrounded by expert pizzaiolos crafting stunning pizza concoctions out the fresh dough and amazing toppings. You can choose from seven distinct pizza versions, from traditional margheritas with silky British mozzarella and bright basil, to Michelin-star chef curations, or you can customise it yourself with extra toppings. The menu is accommodating for vegans, vegetarians, halal-eaters, and gluten intolerant people too, without missing out on great flavour.
