Spacious Italian housed on the first floor of a recent addition to the central Birmingham skyline – a towering 39-storey glassy structure. Felini may miss out on the stunning city views to be had from the Radisson SAS hotel’s upper level bedrooms, but it makes up for it by offering an airy space with a cool, contemporary feel. It delivers a glossy wine bar, a casual ambience – ideal for working lunches on the trot or a relaxed evening meal – & a please-all menu that is a cut above the average chain outfit. Butternut squash & pecorino cream soup is a well-executed, flavour-packed starter, as are mains of char-grilled fresh tuna with wild rocket & baby plum tomatoes, or char-grilled veal cutlet teamed with cep & marsala sauce. Elsewhere, risottos, pasta & pizzas are served as either starters or mains. There are no quibbles over the reasonable prices, the all-Italian wine list, or the efficient service.
