El Celler de Can Roca at The Macallan Estate

Iconic three Michelin-starred El Celler de Can Roca arrives for the first time ever in the UK, taking up residence at The Macallan Estate in Speyside, Scotland. This is the first restaurant outside of Spain for the group who alongside their accolades from the Michelin Guide have been regularly ranked as one of, if not the, best restaurant int he world.

El Celler de Can Roca at The Macallan Estate consists of a dining experience entitled TimeSpirit. Promising an immersive experience for the senses as well as a creative expression of the history of the estate the tasting menu will be comprised of five dishes at lunch and nine at dinner. Scotland’s outstanding produce is at the heart of the inspiration behind the project so all the dishes are created with ingredients from local suppliers or foraged from the Macallan Estate. The restaurant also wants to honour the land it is situated on and so the menu will change in accordance with the seasons and produce available. 

The prestigious nature of this project also extends to its interiors. Designed by David Thulstrup  - the architect behind Noma in Copenhagen - the space immerses guests in the beauty of the grounds of The Macallan Estate. Natural light floods the space and guests enjoy their meal whilst looking out onto Speyside’s rolling hills. An open kitchen sits at the centre of the space, giving guests an intimate look into the chefs' creative and innovative work. The major centrepiece of the room is a one-of-a-kind oak-panelled cellar containing an exclusive bottle of single malt whiskey. This is surrounded by wines and sherries carefully curated by Josep Roca, the original restaurant’s renowned sommelier. This wine collection is displayed alongside a backdrop inspired by the white, chalky Albariza soil integral to the production of Jerez.
