About

Following on from the original Del 74 in Clapton and spin-off site Cantina Del 74 comes this latest taqueria, which has an extended menu. Found on Kingsland High Street in Dalston, the kitchen turns out the likes of tamarind and Chile morita chicken wings, and tortas (Mexican-style sandwiches). Alongside these newer items, there are classics including cochinita pibil taco with braised pork leg, and an Acapulco shrimp cocktail. To drink, there are plenty of margaritas, as well as mezcal bottles to share, which are charged using a ‘pay as you pour’ method. This site is also open for brunch, meaning early risers can enjoy the likes of huevos rancheros, enfrijoladads and gluten-free cornbread with salmon and avocado.

Must go for tacos

Some of the best tacos in London. Had the brisket, slow cooked pork with crackling and fish which were all delicious. Staff were so friendly and helpful with a great atmosphere was great. Can't recommend it enough. The watermelon mezcal margarita was very special, a must try

Evening ruined

We visited Del 74 last night (21/05/2021) for the first time, my friend and I had a terrible experience. Our evening started off in a very disappointing way when we were told ordering food together with drinks was compulsary at their bar/restaurant (apparently this was a licensing compliance thing). The only problem is, we were only told this information after we had just ordered our bottle of wine and were already drinking it.  They threatened to throw us out if we didnt order food, although it wasnt our fault that we didnt know, which we thought was outrangeous. Bare in mind we had already eaten that night from the resturant next door. The staff constantly returned to our table multiple times, I guess they were trying to make us eat or drink quikly and/or kinda pursuade us to order more items from their menu, which made us very uncomfortable and unwelcomed. We ended up ordering food which we never ate and didn't even like.  We complained to the manager called George (whom was very ''hyper'') and some of the staff members multiple times, basically it was in one ear and out the other. I will never visit this place ever again.
