One of many Cosy Club locations brought to you by the same trio of friends that created Loungers, this Cosy Club location in Cardiff Bay is housed in Mermaid Quay and offers all-day dining. Boasting an outdoor terrace and a large back bar, Cosy Club gives diners the opportunity to dine, rain or shine.
The restaurant itself is seemingly designed with art deco style in mind - you'll see lots of fun wallpaper and portraiture, as well as 1920s-inspired lights and wall fixtures that cast their glow over the expansive booth seating. Diners outside, on the other hand, might enjoy the bright-blue metal furniture, the colour paralleling the water of the Bay. And though the restaurant may be informal in design, do expect a touch of the trendy.
The food menu is quite large, and diners will have many options regardless of their dietary preferences or the time of their visit. All of the menus come with a separate menu full of gluten free and/or vegan options, most of which are also suitable for those looking for something more health-conscious. For example, the vegan garden breakfast offers a filling and healthy alternative to the classic English breakfast, with its scrambled turmeric tofu, avocado, harissa beans, vine tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, and sourdough toast with vegan butter. But rest assured, meat eaters: there's more than enough options for you, such as the 6oz flat iron steak with fries and optional chimichurri, or the crispy duck salad with cherry hoisin, Szechuan peppers, pomegranate, rainbow salad, and sesame.
There's an extensive drink list as well, some of which borrows original recipes from other Cosy Club locations. Just make sure to save room for dessert (which also includes vegan options), especially for the Valrhona chocolate brownie served with vanilla ice cream. The kids may be able to get their own brownie and ice cream off the children's menu, but that doesn't mean that adults have to miss out too!
