In the town of Banstead, in the borough of Reigate and Banstead in Surrey, you’ll find Ciao Italia. A quaint family-run Italian that serves up a long list of classic Italian dishes, along with a roast on a Sunday. The restaurant itself is charming and modern, offering guests a welcoming environment, along with a few bistro tables outside.
Starting off with the weekday set menu which is served for both lunch and dinner, diners can enjoy two courses for £19.95, and three for £26.95. Starters include the chef's soup of the day, a beetroot carpaccio topped with walnuts, mozzarella, pomegranate and balsamic glaze, and a classic bruschetta. There's a good variety of mains on offer with the set menu, including pork medallions in a Marsala wine jus, risotto primavera with spring greens, and a few pizza options. Last but not least, dessert begins with a classic creamy tiramisu, chocolate brownie and cheesecake of the day.
Occasionally, Ciao Italia put on a show for guests to enjoy with dinner, from swing and rat pack performances with a set three course menu, to celebrations on Ladies Day, including bubbles and breakfast before heading off to Epsom Racecourse. The à la carte menu is quite extensive, beginning with sharing platters that are perfect for two to three people. There are plenty of pasta, risotto and pizza options, including several dishes with fresh seafood. Meat lovers will be impressed with the variety of grilled meats, along with surf and turf options of sirloin and fillet steaks with three butterfly king prawns.
