Churchy wood panelling, chandeliers and a glitter-balled dance floor set the less-than-saintly tone at this Islington party chapel. The venue is aimed squarely at the neighbourhood’s wedding and celebratory crowds, so check ahead for availability. Various combinations of the large downstairs bar, smaller first-floor bar and covered terrace might have been booked up, to accommodate anything from a 30th-birthday bash to a goth night or live band – though it’s likely you could waltz down the aisle to the sounds of whichever DJ is on the decks that night. Despite the glitz, you won’t pay through the nose. Drinks comprise a concise list of fizz and wines, plus a selection of cocktails including the dubiously named Costa del Penton (Havana Especial rum, mango, apple juice and lemon). Platters of nibbles can be ordered in advance.
