Located on the ground floor of the luxurious Peninsula Hotel on Hyde Park Corner, Canton Blue celebrates the convergence of Chinese and British cuisine through a menu of innovative Cantonese cooking. You'll find the hotel on the south west corner of the Hyde Park Corner roundabout, making it easily accessible from anywhere in London.

There's no shortage of excellent Chinese restaurants in the capital, but Canton Blue takes a different approach to a tried-and-tested formula. The menu at Peninsula's ground floor eatery is all about the interaction between English and Chinese cultures - it explores the impact of the Maritime Silk Road and the food that was born out of trade between the two nations during the 19th century and beyond. Canton Blue is the crossroads, serving a menu that highlights the history behind familiar flavours and dishes, illustrating how they became such a common part of our food lexicon. 

Chef Dicky To, who was previously executive chef at The Peninsula’s Chinese restaurants in Shanghai and Paris, is at the helm of the restaurant, bringing his innovative Cantonese cuisine to the table. The restaurant itself is striking, moodily-lit and colourful, with an emphasis on entertainment and interaction. Many dishes on the menu are finished for guests tableside.

The atmosphere is intimate, with subdued lighting and cozy tables and every design piece is a reminiscent of the British and Chinese cultural heritage. There's an elegant Chinese ceramic, once carried from east to west on a trade ship, and a magnificent backlit ceiling panel depicting a celestial navigation map.

For an even more intimate experience, the restaurant features two private rooms – The Silk Room and The Music Room – each celebrates a distinctive facet of Chinese culture. And of course, no fusion of British and Chinese culture would be complete without a tea lounge; the perfect space to savor a proper cup of tea.
