Bruno's is a unique floating cocktail bar that bobs on the waters of North London, found near Old Street tube station. Here, customers can enjoy expertly crafted cocktails paired with refined bar snacks. Opened a few years ago by brothers Fin and Lorcan Spiteri, Bruno's is a fresh addition to the scene, located within a newly refurbished barge adjacent to the pair’s very popular restaurant, Caravel. At Bruno's, expect inventive takes on classic cocktails, including an extensive selection of alcohol free options. Serenely drifting along the Islington stretch of the Regent’s Canal, Bruno's offers more than just a typical boat experience — it is filled with the ambiance of a sophisticated bistro, featuring plush velvet armchairs, inviting lighting, and a playlist that sets the mood.
From the kitchen enjoy plates of bread and butter and potato rostis with sour cream and caviar to start. Then, try the sesame prawn toast and chilli jam with the burrata topped with roasted figs and mint. If there's a few of you, add some more dishes to the table, like the harissa marinated guinea fowl skewers with dragoncello, or the poached trout with Jersey mids, sea vegetables and a butter sauce.
Pre dinner cocktails begin with the Chido, a blend of El Cabron Mezcal Joven, lime and orgeat. The Cola Colada features white rum, lime and clarified cola milk punch, whilst the punchy Below Deck is shaken up using Aperol, bourbon, lemon and blood orange. If you’re visiting for a post-dinner tipple, try the Brandy Alexander with cognac, creme de cacao, cream and nutmeg, or the Hazelnut Sour which is a blend of Frangelico, vanilla vodka, egg white and sugar. Non-alcoholic options include the Designata with almond syrup, lime and soda, and the High Life made with High Point Digestif, cherry syrup and lemonade.
