It's no surprise that a restaurant with such an intriguing name also has a rather 'out there' concept. Guilty London, is one of four restaurants from 'Chefpreneur' Olivier da Costa who hails from Lisbon, and boasts more than 20 years of international experience in the industry, including seven restaurants of his own, and another five on which he has consulted.
Vibrantly colourful murals and over-the-top decor (think a gigantic statue of Big Ben), just help solidify this place as a bit of a party spot, always offering good vibes and a buzzing atmosphere. Guilty London aims to be a purveyor of 'foodporn', residing in the buzzy area of Shoreditch, it tempts diners with fantastical dishes, well and truly at odds with the health food movement. Instead, this restaurant is all about embracing your hunger, having fun and feeling no guilt.
As you might have guessed, the menu is lengthy and packed full with deliciously mouth-watering dishes. First up, we have a hearty selection of starters, ranging from shrimp tacos with pineapple salsa, alongside cheesy nachos with guacamole, pico de gallo and chive sour cream, and truffle arancini balls served with an indulgent truffle mayo.
Moving over to mains and there's plenty of options for all, with classic mains including the corn-fed chicken with wild mushroom sauce, a salmon fillet with beurre blanc and caviar and a hearty steak and ale pie served with mash potato and a veal jus.
Moving on, you can find an entire section of the menu dedicated to guilty pleasures. Beefed up mac 'n' cheese comes smothered in bolognese sauce with aged parmesan, whilst the Lord Bacon cheese burger comes with Montgomery cheddar, smoked bacon, onion relish, all served alongside truffle fries. Desserts continue this decadent trend with crunchy churros and dulce de leche or chocolate and pecan brownie with vanilla ice cream.
