As one of the north of England’s most prominent cities, Leeds has ample choice when it comes to restaurants, one of which is Brasserie Blanc. Brasserie Blanc is large chain of French restaurants with four locations in London and another 10 stretching throughout England. The Leeds branch is larger than most of the others and set in a building with a characterful edge.
Indeed, Brasserie Blanc Leeds is housed inside a converted water mill which boasts authentic details such as exposed brick walls and ceiling, plenty of open space and structural pillars throughout. It also sits on the riverfront and therefore has views of the water. Interior design features include farmhouse-style, white wall tiles and pendent lighting, which gives the décor a rustic aesthetic.
Brasserie Blanc Leeds has six menus available: a la carte, desserts, Sunday, wine, drinks and a children’s menu. The a la carte selection spans nibbles, starters, sides, mains and an entire section on steak which boasts four options of grass-fed, ethically-reared British beef chose for the restaurant by the Queen’s butcher.
Highlights from the menu include the halloumi burger with house coleslaw, roasted halibut with champagne sauce and Moroccan mezze platter. The a la carte menu is also home to a ‘bubbles’ selection with options from some of France’s most famous champagne houses such as Ruinart Blanc and Dom Perignon. The Sunday menu offers two courses for £20 or three for £25 and gives diners a choice of roast pork, roast Cornish beef and cottage pie and beetroot and Cherrywood smoked cheese parcel, alongside most of the usual main courses.
