There are shades of Gay Paree and the backstreet wine bars of Naples and Rome about this sexily themed venue with its lovely alfresco space and elegant interiors – think polished floors, gossamer drapes, wine racks and old barrels. A full range of drinks runs the gamut from martinis, margaritas, negronis and daiquiris to Champagne cocktails and house sips such as Le Boom (Angostura bitters, Amaretto, sirop d’orgeat, orange bitters, orange, pineapple and lime juice, with a flaming Wray & Nephew rum-infused cherry). Food is limited to a ‘petite’ selection of cheese and charcuterie platters, plus toasted Italian bloomers, chicken liver pâté, bresaola and mixed antipasti to go with samplers from the Euro-centric wine list. DJs spin French house music, and there’s occasional live jazz to get you in the mood.
