Bodega is known for being unpretentious. This lovely restaurant is the little sister to The Priory in Caerleon. Here, you'll feel the influence of Spanish heritage with all things fire and wine, and plenty of Mediterranean influence. This Lakeside restaurant is set with an open kitchen, using smoke and fire as the main tools to create small dishes that are cooked in a simple yet delicious way. Dishes here are always tasty, and even more so when paired with Bodega's selection of wines by the glass.
The team at Bodega believe that food is good when little and often, and this is why the small plates menu is always changing. Dishes are cooked over a fire, and with passion using quality local ingredients, some Spanish heritage flair and by bringing in influences from across the Med. At Bodega, you'll discover one of Cardiff's most extensive selections of wines available by the glass. From timeless classics to rare and unique finds, the menu showcases a carefully curated list of 10 white and 10 red wines, alongside sparkling, rosé, and sweet wines, in bottle and glass. Then there is the pantry, a space where you can stock up on some of the ingredients that make your Bodega dishes so delicious.
When it comes to small plates, you can choose from a dish of cod with harissa and chowder, along with Bodega bravas and leeks with whipped labneh, onion and crispy lomo. Sharing plates include the firebrick chicken with miso, harissa and romesco, whilst there are three flatbread options, including the confit garlic flatbread. Don't forget about dessert, and maybe try the Basque cheesecake which comes warm and with pots of white and dark chocolate for drizzling.
