The owners of Outsider Tart – a leftfield American ‘bake shop’ and café on Chiswick High Road – have branched out with the launch of this soul food joint next door. Punchy authentic southern cooking is the deal, with tantalisingly named dishes such as hangtown fry, builder’s Benedict and scrapple (a mush of pork scraps and trimmings bound together with cornmeal and wheat flour) destined for stardom. Also look out for migas – a Tex-Mex egg and tortilla brunch concoction. Takeaways are on the cards, and the guys will also be continuing with their locally legendary chilli nights at Outsider Tart (every Thursday).
