A market town in the East Riding of Yorkshire, Beverley is located less than 30 miles just outside of York, and less than 10 miles northwest of Hull. The Minster in Beverley is one of the most beautiful Gothic buildings that you'll find in the whole of Europe. It was built in the period between 1190 and 1420, and is a large, quite imposing infrastructure that is renowned for its 13th century stone carvings and gorgeous stained glass. The town has actually been voted as one of the top places to live in the UK several times, and has plenty on offer – including fun for the whole family, museums, and your pick of 25 different beaches. Whilst the population isn't too big, what there is on offer in Beverley is plenty. You'll spot architecture from all eras of the last couple of hundred centuries alone, so history buffs will love this part of England.
