This family-run Vietnamese follows on from the original Bành Bành site in Peckham. The large, pared-back space seats around 60 diners and you can expect to dine on signature dishes including barbecue beef in betel leaves, sticky chicken wings, and bành khot pancakes (mini turmeric and coconut pancakes with tiger prawns and shrimp). Over at the bar, you’ll find Vietnamese-inspired cocktails such as the Dang Negroni, which mixes coconut rum with Campari, vermouth, mango bitters and pineapple chunks.
Come the weekend, you can try Bành Bành’s brunch, with a tempting menu which features beef steak with pâté, grilled tomato and a fried egg, served on a warm baguette. There are vegan brunch options too, such as the Bành Xéo Crepe: a crispy crepe topped with spring onion, coconut cream, beansprouts and mung beans. Unlike the original, this Bành Bành takes bookings for large groups.
