The first rooftop bar from ETM (who run The Jugged Hare, among others) roosts atop the Royal London House Hotel, joining the group's Burdock on the ground floor. This tenth-floor space combines city slick and 1920s glamour, the glittering chandeliers and royal blue chairs juxtaposed with a large convex window overlooking a stunning terrace. The suited and booted crowd chow down on an eclectic menu which, despite stretching to cover as many bases as possible, delivers. Our roast chicken main was a golden, succulent triumph and we loved the After Eight Arctic roll: mint ice cream wrapped in rich sponge with a hard chocolate shell, topped with chocolate soil and vanilla ice cream. The only misstep was yellowfin tuna sashimi, so pre-loaded with wasabi that it threatened to blow heads off. At the sizeable island bar you’ll find the likes of vodka-based Sour Cherry Bombs, while we recommend an absinthe-rinsed Tequila-and-beetroot blast called Jeff Goes South. Prices are fair for the area and the view from the roof terrace is really something.
Can you book at Aviary?
Yes, to secure a booking please head to our website, and select the 'BOOK' button in the top right corner. We are cashless, so please bring a bank card with you to settle your bill. We accept all major credit cards, including American Express as well as contactless payments. If you are running late, please let us know as soon as you can. We can hold your table for up to 20 minutes, although this may be taken off your booking duration. After this time, your table may be released and your booking marked as a no-show, resulting in a cancellation fee.
What is the dress code at Aviary?
Our dress code is smart and elegant. We kindly ask guests not to wear sports, beach and gym-wear including tracksuits, flip flops/sliders or workout trainers. Smart and fashion trainers may be permitted. Caps and hats may be worn on the terrace.

45 minute drinks queues; both myself and other memebers of my party - Further, whilst queueing a girl was choking on something and was spluttering for water - I reached over to the sink area where I was standing to try and help and got threatened by a huge foreign bouncer - charming it wasn't.
I also booked a table outside - but was resolved eventually. All left a rather sour taste in one's mouth.
Also it gets VERY Essex at weekends - very different vibe to weekdays.

This instagrammable spot is perfect for after work drinks. Be sure to book in advance or get there early as tables dissappear quickly and you understand why!
The drinks menu is vast, and they have good knowledge of cocktails and gin drinks, so perfect for summer socials.
There are perfect views of the city, which makes it a great spot to celebrate long into the summer nights, or cosy up in the pods away from the chill come winter time.
