Opened in December 2021 by Chef Phelim O'Hagan, a finalist in the Great British Menu Northern Ireland 2021, Artis (which is Latin for craft) is a culinary hotspot in the heart of Derry City's Craft Village. With partner and restaurant manager Serina Macari, the Artis Team introduces a high end Michelin dining experience to all who visit. Committed to excellence, the team sources the finest Irish ingredients from local suppliers, fisheries, farms, and the surrounding area. And, by employing both traditional and modern techniques, the team creatively maximises each ingredient's potential while minimising food waste.
With exceptional service, Artis aims to provide the best dining experience in the North West, featuring regularly changing menus based on seasonal availability from local suppliers. The restaurant is modern, yet warm and inviting. Guests are welcomed by friendly staff, who like to leave you to enjoy your delicious meal. Artis showcases the best of Irish ingredients in the heart of Derry City's Craft Village with starters like Donegal wood pigeon with morel mushroom, pearl barley, preserved garlic, and apple, or savour the roast Kilkeel scallop with puy lentil, celeriac, and yuzu. The main course offerings range from Lisdergan flax fed dry aged beef striploin with braised short rib, mushroom tart, and béarnaise to Skeaghanore duck breast accompanied by mooncoin beetroot, kale, sour cherry, and duck leg ragu.
Conclude your dining experience with delightful desserts such as mango and white chocolate entremet with macadamia nuts and sea buckthorn or the raspberry ruffle featuring coconut soufflé, chocolate custard, and raspberry sorbet. Artis also presents a chef's seven course tasting menu, with the option to enhance the experience with a perfectly curated wine and drinks pairing.
