Pre match meal – location is fantastic- just by the west entrance. We went for the carvery and whilst they had no record whatsoever of the booking the restaurant was virtually empty and so we had no trouble getting in. Very odd on a match day when other bars restaurants are full and some even charging an entrance fee! First niggle – why no booking recorded? Sunday Lunch is a carvery with a selection of starters and main courses all of which were adequate. Second niggle – the food very clearly looked like it had been put out for a while and was not particularly appetising. We chose the carvery with a choice of lamb or beef. Third niggle, the beef was whole and I asked for rare, but was told the chef would only carve from the end – which was clearly well cooked and after a slight reluctance, eventually carved an incision which showed the ends were nothing short of well done. We went for the lamb which similarly was not ‘pink’ but less of a problem. Second helpings were available and half an hour later the beef was still untouched. Guess I am not the only customer who did not want the burnt end!
Overall this was an OK experience and despite the dead atmosphere, worth going to just for the locality to Wembley Stadium. I can think of no reason to go there otherwise!
