Apple Yard are purveyors of British, Northern Spanish, and Provence influenced food, fine wine and bubbles. Right from the Basque Country, the heartlands of Rioja, and the team’s time spent in Nice and AIX, they have curated wines and recipes from cherished wine bars and restaurants found during their travels. Now in Sidcup, the team behind Apple Yard has brought their vision to life as a wine bar, shop, and neighbourhood restaurant, inviting the community to enjoy a rich culinary journey.
Apple Yard selectively imports top tier food and wines and sources the finest British produce from Kent, prioritising authenticity while minimising their environmental impact.
The extensive and delicious a la carte menu begins with aperitivos of almonds, Spanish olives and pork scratching, before heading onto a trio of native oysters with parmesan foam, passion fruit and tempura chilli. There's a great selection of bread and charcuterie dishes, from baked camembert and Spanish jamon, to padron peppers and French bread with anchovy butter. Starters range from the classic Marseille of moules mariniere cooked with garlic, cream, shallots in cava and a chunk of bread to fried aubergine with honey and goat’s cheese from Andalucia.
For your main, why not try the Basque hake served with Spanish onion, asparagus, peas, rosemary potatoes and Txakoli sauce, or a famous Spanish loin served with mixed peppers, pomme puree and red wine jus, or spaghetti bottarga with squid, prawns, chilli, garlic and parmesan crumbs.
Sides include French fries, creamed mushrooms, chickpeas and spinach, a Valencian tomato salad, grilled vegetables and truffled mac and cheese. Desserts are prepared fresh each day, so make sure you check out the specials board.
