Amalfi Ristorante is an Italian restaurant from The Big Table Group, who are also the brains behind the popular chains Bella Italia, Las Iguanas and Café Rouge. Located in the heart of Soho on Argyll Street, the menu features a range of classic Italian dishes, from sourdough pizzas and pasta dishes to antipasti and dolce, all inspired by the cuisine found on the Amalfi coast.
The interiors are elegant yet calming and designed to ignite the holiday-feel of an Italian trattoria. Mosaic marble flooring, terracotta tiles and a garden room capture the tranquil essence of this stunning coastal stretch, while the spacious restaurant spans two floors with the capacity to hold up to 152 covers at full capacity. When the UK weather decides to align with that of the Mediterranean, guests can dine outdoors on the alfresco terrace which can seat another 20 people.
To start, discover a range of carpaccio dishes, from classic beef to tuna and beetroot, alongside recognisable favourites such as burrata with rocket and sourdough, bruschetta and calamari fritti. Sourdough pizza ticks the something-for-everyone box, while pasta and risotto dishes include a range of well-known favourites – think carbonara, bolognese, prawn linguine and seafood risotto. If you still have space for secondi after all of that, then look out for things like pollo Milanese or lemon sole served on the bone for ‘main course’. For something sweet, there is a range of gelato and sorbet flavours, while more substantial desserts include tiramisu, Italian chocolate fondant and Dolce Sorrento (cheesecake made with fresh passion fruit, Madagascan vanilla, lemon and amaretti biscuits).
The drinks list focuses on a selection of cocktails and G&Ts, with signature creations including a Grapefruit Negroni (Malfy Pink Grapefruit Gin, Martini Bianco, and Aperol), Sorrento Spritz (Luxardo Maraschino, Martini Bianco, cherry brandy, and fresh grapefruit juice topped with soda) and a non-alcoholic Amaretti Sour (Lyres Amaretti and fresh lemon juice, shaken with aquafaba).
