Most of us adore pasta, in its many many forms. But we especially love it when it’s done well, and that’s exactly what you get at Al Dente. With restaurants in Fitzrovia, Monument, and South Kensington, Al Dente has the art of pasta-making perfected. The South Kensington location is the flagship of the Al Dente brand – holding up to 50 diners indoors and 12 al fresco.
The biggest jewel in the Al Dente crown is the Pastificio (meaning pasta factory!), where fresh pasta is made daily by in-house chefs, to bring a beautiful taste of Italy to London. Diners can sit back in the restaurant’s relaxed atmosphere and watch through a window into the Pastificio, as their orders are brought to life. Al Dente’s principles are simple: fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and authentic meals, brought straight to your table.
Speaking of Al Dente’s dishes, guests will find a menu full to the brim with hearty Italian dishes, made and cooked to perfection. A Spaghettoni alla Carbonara, cooked the traditional way using egg yolks, and a spicy sausage pasta inspired by the flavours of Calabria, are both on offer at Al Dente. For lighter bites – or perhaps simply starters before the mains – you'll find deliciously crispy arancini, perfectly seasoned bruschetta, and of course burrata, to name but a few. A tempting drinks menu proposes refreshing wines, cocktails, and soft drinks to accompany your meal, and desserts come in the form of old-favourites like the classic Tiramisù.
Excitingly, Al Dente also provides the opportunity for diners to browse a wide selection of fresh pasta (made in the Pastificio) to take home and cook themselves, as well as a range of homemade sauces.
Owner and founder Filippo Gallenzi, originally from Rome, says simply that the aim of Al Dente is to provide ‘authentic Italian pasta at affordable prices’, and we think that’s exactly what it does.
