About

Heading down the tree-lined driveway of Pennyhill Park is the perfect tranquil start to your afternoon - top that off with an impressive afternoon tea and you have a recipe for ultimate relaxation.

Pennyhill Park - an Exclusive Collection hotel and spa - is a stunning mansion house surrounded by 120 acres of Surrey Parkland and is home to a Michelin-star restaurant, 124 individually decorated bedrooms and a state-of-the-art facility spa. And not forgetting, an impressive afternoon tea experience.

Afternoon tea at Pennyhill Park takes place in the Hillside Bar and is designed by uber-talented Head Pastry Chef Sarah Frankland. Sarah Frankland leads a team of ten pastry chefs in the kitchen and started her career back in 2004 working at The Connaught under Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett. She then followed this with four years at Wiliam Curley where she worked her way up to Head Patisserie before moving to Yauatcha and finally to Pennyhill Park in 2016.

The afternoon tea menu at Pennyhill Park changes seasonally to ensure only the best produce is used. Served traditionally on a tiered cake stand, you can enjoy finger sandwiches filled with the likes of Barracks Farm roast beef, horseradish and crème fraîche along with Hillfield free range coronation chicken. Scones are - of course - always on the menu and come plain and fruited served with strawberry conserve and Surrey Hills cream. Seasonal pastries are given a modern twist with choices like the Chocolate and hazelnut sponge cake topped with chocolate ganache and caramelised white chocolate, or the lemon macaroon filled with crème fraîche ganache and a blackberry compôte.

Along with a choice of teas and coffee, you can also choose to add a glass of Champagne to your tea if you are looking to celebrate.
