A riverside brasserie dating back to before the Great Fire of London when visiting dignatries needed somewhere close to Hampton Court Palace to stay. The centrepiece bar, wine room, and beautiful alfresco terraces overlooking the Thames play centre stage particularly in summer when the sun's out. Signatures include tuna and salmon sashimi, prawn cocktail or beef fillet carpaccio, followed by chargrilled chateaubriand or pan-fried sea bass with braised fennel, broad beans and saffron cream. Put a line through the afternoon's engagements, kick back, order another glass of wine and enjoy the boaty comings and goings.
