OPENS JANUARY 2021
Modern British restaurant 1215 is one of seven restaurants and bars at the Fairmont Windsor Park, a grand English countryside hotel located on the edge of Windsor Great Park. The hotel is surrounded by 40 acres of manicured open gardens and pitches itself as a gastronomic haven for budding foodies.
On the grounds of the hotel, you will find an abundance of food and beverage outfits, including Middle Eastern and European fusion concepts, a quaint afternoon tea lounge and even a wellness café. 1215 meanwhile, is a British restaurant which is steeped in history and takes its name from thea year that the Magna Carta was signed. The historic document, among the most important in British history, was signed nearby in the grounds of Runnymede in the year 1215.
1251’s dining room is set on Fairmont Windsor Park’s south lawn, overlooking the private terrace and manicured gardens. The menu prioritises high-quality produce that has been sourced locally from a combination of The Royal Farms, Windsor artisans and the hotel’s own vegetable and herb gardens. As such, the food offering here changes seasonally, depending on what produce is available locally, but you can always expect to find distinctly British, ingredient-led fare on offer. Take the Windsor Estate venison for instance, which is smoked in hay, then served alongside celeriac, black pudding and pickled blackberries.
After dinner, guests are encouraged to head to 1215 Bar, located adjacent to the restaurant. On the drinks list there, you will find a selection of sparkling wines and Champagnes, as well as an extensive fine wine list, all of which are served from a striking bar overlooking the south lawn.
Once you have finished sipping on cocktails and fizz, you can retire to one of the Fairmont’s 200 rooms and suites, many of which boasts views across the property’s green landscapes.
