Anyone looking to try something different for their next night out can step aboard Thames Dinner Cruise for an evening of waterborne dining. Three packages are offered: the Classic includes a five-course meal and live entertainment, while the Premier adds house wine and the Signature guarantees a window table. Guests are welcomed with a glass of fizz, before tucking into a set menu which kicks off with a warming shot of butternut squash and coriander velouté, before moving on to tender slow-braised feather blade of beef served with truffled pommes Anna and veg. Dessert sees a light and fluffy sponge cake encased in white chocolate and drizzled with raspberry coulis, while after-dinner snacks include truffled Cornish brie and snap-apart fruit toast. The experience doesn’t come cheap, but instead of wallpaper you have some of the capital’s most iconic landmarks floating past, and the romantic atmosphere is buoyed along by a jazz singer and pianist.
