The Korean Cowgirl is just as interesting a dining concept as it sounds. It's the brainchild of two friends, both passionate about travel and incredible food, who came together to mix the distinct and contrasting cuisines of Korea and America's Deep South. The result? An electric menu of deep, smokey flavours and East Asian cooking techniques coming together in versatile, experimental way.
The Cave Hotel branch benefits from the venue's luxurious setting and the restaurant itself is an ambient enclave boasting mood lighting, industrial features and edgy wall murals, for a cool but sophisticated vibe perfect for hosting a special occasion.
If inviting friends or family for a birthday, anniversary, get together or even hen or stag do, we think they'll be suitably impressed by the lengthy and varied offering. First, start off with some smaller bites for the table such as candied brisket with salted caramel popcorn, crackerjack prawns in lettuce wrap with spicy dressing and Korean-fried cauliflower with pineapple and gochujang sauce.
When it comes to larger dishes, there really is so much to choose from, spanning sticky glazed babyback ribs, Texas-style smoked turkey and sliced Creekstone USDA smoked brisket, all cooked in the offset smokers, fueled with real oak and cooked low and slow by the in-house pitmasters. There's also plenty of sides to add, from loaded tator tots with bacon, cheese and burger sauce to cajun and parmesan corn or mac and cheese. Essentially, we don't think anyone will be going hungry.
For group dining, though, sharing boards are also a great option. Available for up to four people per board, these feasting-style dishes include a taster of all the best bits on the menu including pulled pork, Korean fried chicken wings and Korean BBQ sausage.
There are also some more Korean-focused dishes on the main menu, too, including rice bowls packed with yang nyum, kimchi, fried egg, rice, spring onions and crispy onions, and topped with crispy tofu or brisket burnt ends, which sound absolutely delicious.
