Looking for a cosy spot in Hampshire to enjoy some private dining? The Jack Russell, located on the Faccombe Estate in Andover, is a gastropub with rooms where diners can enjoy delightful menus of seasonal, British cuisine.
If you’re looking to gather together your nearest and dearest for seasonal menus of pub classics, with a couple of drinks whilst sitting next to a roaring fire, then The Jack Russell could be the spot for you. Plush leather seating, wood-panelled walls, antique furnishings and a main restaurant of blue tile and timber make for a more relaxed feel, perfect for children and your furry friends. Whether you’re looking for a room for exclusive hire, or simply looking to book a larger table, there’s space for a whole host of events.
Menus here are brought to you by Head Chef, Andy Watts, whose commitment to seasonality and sustainability shines through each dish. The Jack Russell aims to use as much fresh and local produce wherever possible. Menus are seasonally changing, making the most of fresh produce from the Estate itself, and working alongside local suppliers for meats, fish and the wine selection.
Kick off your evening with a selection of starters and nibbles, such as beer battered gherkins, rosemary focaccia, beef carpaccio with reduced white balsamic and cashew nut hummus with chargrilled veggies. Mains include dishes such as mussels in a creamy garlic and cider sauce with skin on fries, pork schnitzel with fried duck egg, and confit lamb belly and shoulder with gnocchi and courgette smothered in a lamb sauce.
Be sure to pop in Friday's for a menu brimming with fish, and enjoy a dinner of battered fish, tempura prawn goujons or breaded haddock. Whilst on a Sunday, The Jack Russell cooks up a stellar roast with all the trimmings and plenty of gravy.
