There’s nothing better than a cosy Christmas party, filled with convivial spirit and festive cheer. This is a pub that has all of that and more. Set within the Faccombe Estate in Andover, Christmas parties at The Jack Russell involve roaring fireplaces and menus stacked with the finest seasonal dishes. This charming inn provides a warm and inviting setting, ideal for celebrating the holiday season with friends, family, or colleagues.
Fitted with old wooden chairs, taupe leather banquettes and blue timber subdivisions that lend an intimate feel to the dining room, The Jack Russel is an exclusive hire Christmas party primed for intimate and lively events. It’s an inviting pub in every sense; children are welcome, and (as the name would suggest) so are furry friends. There’s an outside area too, surrounded by natural beauty. If you’re keen to make the most of your Christmas party, you can also hire out some of the bedrooms, each of them well-appointed and charming.
Christmas menus at The Jack Russell, curated by head chef Andy Watts, showcase the rich seasonal ingredients found in the local area. Many of the ingredients are sourced directly from the doorstep, with eggs, apples, game, and figs all brought in from the surrounding Faccombe Estate. The Christmas menu features all the favourite traditional combinations each elevated and spruced up with inventive flourishes.
To start, consider duck liver parfait with onion jam and melba toast, celery and celeriac sour with apple matchsticks and truffle, or a pear and whipped ricotta salad with pomegranate. Festive mains have included the likes of roast free-range turkey with bacon-wrapped chipolatas and celeriac puree, alongside twice-backed Old Winchester cheese souffle with triple-cooked parsnips. Desserts have all the favourites too, with a Christmas pudding crumble tart served with a delicious brandy creme Anglaise.
