London is full of fancy spots for private dining, but if you're looking for something special near Walthamstow, take a look at The Banc. This glamorous restaurant sits on the previous site of a Barclays Bank, taking over the space and turning it into something new and unique - though the original use is referenced in its name.
Inside, the vibe is atmospheric, late-night and full of glitz, with purple, mood lighting and cool decor. From the large, aubergine-hued booths to the sultry, smaller tables for couples, there's a range of seating which is perfect for different sized groups. While there isn't a private dining room, you're welcome to talk to the team about booking out part of the restaurant or even making the entire thing your own for the night.
Of course, no party should be without great drinks and for diners at The Banc, you're in luck! The team here are passionate about their signature cocktails which draw from a range of creative influences. For example, try the Picasso with Citron vodka, Passoa, passion fruit puree, violet syrup, Grenadine, Simple syrup, lime juice and Miraculous Foamer.
Moving onto the food, and especially in a group, you'll want to try the street food sharer plates for the table. The chicken lollipops are a crowd pleaser, as are the dynamite prawns with bang bang sauce and salt and pepper fried squid. For mains, if you don't fancy a large plate, the tacos with seabass ceviche sound delicious, as well as the bao buns stuffed with buttermilk chicken or pulled beef brisket.
We like the sound of yuzu miso black cod, the sirloin steak or the fusion grill which comes with chicken thighs, lamb fillet and lamb chops. All of which is available with a delicious range of sides such as red cabbage coleslaw, hand-cut fries or mac and cheese.
