The Banc is an up-market restaurant and cocktail bar in North East London, set on the site of a former Barclays Bank, now transformed into an atmospheric eatery, lounge, alfresco terrace and shisha spot. If you're looking for somewhere to host a special occasion - be it a birthday, anniversary party, or even corporate event, the team at The Banc are excited to welcome you and encourage venue hire bookings.
Inside, the space centres around the main dining area with rich, purple booths, mood lighting and statement, life-size cherry blossom trees. There's also a stand-out bar which glows subtly in purple. Talk to the team about taking over a corner of the space, or even the entire thing, and not forgetting the terrace with retractable roof - a sun trap in summer and a cosy nook in winter.
When it comes to the food, we think the extensive menu will have something for everyone. Perfect for groups, take a look at the small plates to start and share the likes of wagyu beef sliders on charcoal buns, chicken lollipops with chilli garlic sauce and dynamite prawns with bang bang sauce and chives.
For mains, steak fans will appreciate the choice of ribeye and sirloin with creamy mushroom gravy or peppercorn sauce, or you could go for the fusion grill which offers a mix of chicken thighs, lamb fillet and lamb chops with French beans. There's plenty of vegetarian and pescatarian options, too, such as the truffle pasta with oyster mushrooms, as well as the yuzu miso black cod, which sounds delicious.
To keep your guests well watered, take a look at the impressive cocktail menu which includes some creative signatures. We like the sound of the Rick's Flower with Hendricks Gin, elderflower, lime juice, simple syrup, kiwi and cucumber - but don't forget to try out the shisha, too!
