Robun is named after Japanese author Kanagaki Robun, who wrote the book Seiyo ryoritsu in 1872. This text develops the cooking technique of Yakiniku, which took inspiration from Western barbecue, using a robata charcoal fire.
Nowadays, Yakiniku is one of the most-loved Japanese culinary methods, and one which Robun offers throughout its menu, alongside sushi, tempura, gyoza and bao buns. Fun fact: Seiyo ryoritsu was also part of the first ever manga magazine, and so you'll find nods to this in the murals across the restaurant's walls. The events space can be found upstairs, above the main restaurant, featuring a dining room and cocktail bar set up to host your group perfectly. Here, you'll be well fed and watered, and you can even add a whisky flight, sake pairings or a cocktail masterclass to your booking, to surprise guests and make things a little more interactive. In the events space you can host up to 50 people, and there's a minimum requirement of 16 people. This space features two floors, four individually designed double-bedrooms, two ensuite bathrooms, a family-sized bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a large living and dining room.
