Notting Hill hotspot Los Mochis blends Mexican and Japanese cuisine to great effect, bringing two cuisines from opposite sides of the globe together in a vibrant, colourful menu. The restaurant is a multi-sensory experience in many senses, not just in terms of the food but also the interiors. Edgy Mexican art lines the brick walls and the decor is a riot of colour and texture, from rattan lampshades to patterned upholstery. The more rustic Mexican elements are balanced by minimal, linear Japanese elegance.
As well as being renowned for a unique menu and vibrant interiors, Los Mochis is also popular for private dining, offering two private dining rooms over two floors. The ground floor dining room is more suitable for large parties and can handle anything from a big sit-down dinner to a canape reception or drinks party. Bifold doors open up onto Los Mochis’ patio area, which makes a perfect al fresco breakout area to enjoy a drink on warmer days.
Head up to the first floor and you’ll find Los Mochis’ second dining room - a more private, secluded space than the ground floor. Though not as large as the downstairs dining room, this private dining room still has ample space for 55 seated guests, and with the bar and lounge on the same floor it makes for a great all-inclusive space for you and your group to enjoy some pre-dinner cocktails, before tucking in to a private feast.
The menu blends Mexican and Japanese dishes and elements within, offering a huge amount of choice between tacos, tostaditos and ceviche, as well as sashimi, maki rolls and Japanese small plates. Staff are ideally placed to provide suggestions on what you should order, and the drinks menu is equally unique with signature cocktails displaying a range of mezcal-based mixes alongside an enormous tequila list. Large private dining groups also have the option to tailor menus ahead of time to suit the occasion.
