Liverpool isn’t short of great places to host a Christmas party, but few can match the grandeur and sophistication of Hawksmoor. The group has a habit of picking beautiful old buildings for their openings and this one is no different - you’ll find Hawksmoor Liverpool ensconced in the magnificent Grade-II listed India Buildings. Inside, Hawksmoor matches the Renaissance-inspired decor of the building itself, whilst the outside is clad in white Portland stone.
It’s an impressive place to hold a festive gathering, and Hawksmoor matches the inspiring decor with typically generous food. The restaurant is available to book all through Christmas, and naturally the food is the big attraction. Small groups can just book a table in the restaurant and order off the a la carte if they choose, but larger groups get a choice of set menus to pick from, ordered by price point.
Hawksmoor Liverpool is available to hire exclusively if you’re planning a big Christmas bash, but the restaurant also has a private dining room - The New Yorker Room - available for parties of up to 16 seated guests. This spacious room is named in celebration of the longstanding links between Liverpool and New York - in fact, India Buildings architect Herbert Rowse was one of thousands of famous Liverpudlians who have crossed the Atlantic and settled in New York over the centuries.
The various sharing menus are packed with Hawksmoor classics, from the Old Spot belly ribs, roasted scallops in white port and garlic and smoked mackerel salad, to a range of prime steak cuts, grilled monkfish and roasted celeriac. Don’t forget all-important sides like triple cooked chips, mac and cheese, cows in blankets and steak sauces, and leave room for Hawksmoor’s famous sticky toffee pudding. On the drinks front, Hawksmoor boasts an extensive wine list, as well as renowned cocktails - you can ever work with the restaurant’s in-house mixologists to create a bespoke cocktail for your festive celebration.
