If you're a foodie, looking for somewhere special to host a celebration dinner in Chester, we think The Forge is what you've been looking for. Nestled in the heart of this historic, Roman town, The Forge boasts design flair, a private dining space and a wow-worthy menu, inspired by wild, sustainable British food.
The main dining room is anchored by the open kitchen, which works beautifully with the space's industrial feel. Next to exposed overhead pipework, a rich colour palette and smart tiling, the hustle and bustle of the kitchen really brings the space to life. You can speak to the team about booking out a large table or your own area of this space, or for 10 guests or under, there is the private dining room.
The private dining room features a central, wooden table and stylish details like modern-style chandeliers, deep blue walls and velvet seating. The team have created a set of tasting menus to make the experience even more special, with options for five or seven courses. While menus change with the seasons, some example dishes include BBQ stone bass with confit tomato, basil and lime, alongside Cotswold fallow
with king oyster mushroom and whipped bone marrow, as well as dark chocolate cremeux with malt ice cream and honeycomb.
You're also welcome to choose from the a la carte menu where cooking techniques of grilling and roasting over oak and beech logs form the centrepiece. When it comes to ingredients, the team are committed to locality and source house favourites like venison from nearby estates with a focus on improving biodiversity and deer health. Finally, for something truly unique, ask the team to create a bespoke menu for your group, based on your tastes and the occasion - they're happy to be creative and work with you for a unique option!
