If you enjoy reading and like a good film now and again, you’ll definitely want to pay a visit to Derbyshire’s Chatsworth House, the very setting for Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice. Not too much farther and you’ll reach the mesmerising Peak District, where many a folk set off on their adventures. The National Trust’s Calke Abbey is also worth a visit, as are the number of reservoirs – the Derwent Dams, the beautiful Carsington Water and River Derwent.
